Cover Supervisor in Uttoxeter

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for delivering pre-set lessons during the short-term absence of the class teacher. You will help maintain a positive and productive learning environment by supervising students, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting pupils in accordance with the school\’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task.
• Support pupils in completing set work and clarify instructions where needed.
• Promote a positive learning atmosphere and manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to students regarding progress and achievement.
• Report back to teaching staff on student behaviour, progress, and any concerns.
• Support students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and foster inclusion in the classroom.
• Assist in maintaining accurate attendance and behaviour records.

Qualifications

Strong classroom presence and the ability to act as a positive role model.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour confidently and effectively.
• Flexibility and a proactive attitude.
• Previous experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
