Overview
An experienced Stone Mason is needed to join a leading property restoration specialist company based in Park Royal, London. The role is to read and interpret blueprints, collaborate with operatives, cut or shape stones, and fix stones according to the structural plans.

Thomann-Hanry undertakes works to restore some of the most important and historic buildings in London such as the National Gallery and the Bank of England.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and structural plans.
- Collaborate with our operatives and team of stonemasons to ensure project objectives are met.
- Cut or shape stones to required dimensions and fix stones according to structural plans.
- Undertake fixing, repairing and pointing of natural stone, and support other stonemasonry tasks as required by projects.
- Maintain exceptional standards of workmanship and safety on site.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in stone masonry.
- A NVQ or equivalent in stone masonry.
- Experience reading and interpreting structural blueprints.
- Ability to determine materials and equipment needed for projects.
- Experience mixing grout and cement; cutting and shaping stones; laying stones according to plans or specifications.
- Proven track record of fixing, repairing and pointing natural stone.
- Strong understanding of lime mortar and its properties.
- Ability to smooth and polish stones and concrete; replace defective or missing stones on walls and structures.
- Experience working within a team of multi-disciplined stone masons.
- Physically strong and able to manipulate heavy objects; able to work outdoors and in noisy areas for extended periods.
- Excellent customer focus and strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience of working with Portland stone.
- Experience operating truck mount platforms (category 3a and self-propelled booms category 3b).
- Experience of working at heights in a predominantly outdoor environment.
- IPAF certification.
