An opportunity has arisen to progress and develop to join our team of staff to lead the Goods-In side of the Night Shift. You will be reporting directly to the Night Shift Manager - Goods IN/Out and working closely with the teams in both Goods IN and Goods OUT as well as communicating with all other department supervisors as and when required.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing the movement of all stock throughout the shift, in terms of picking efficiencies.
- Monitoring and observing throughout the shift.
- Signing off pick sheets where required, and finalising any spot checks.
- Assessing the stages of picking and how it is progressing.
- Upskilling and implementing enhanced ways of working within the overall department, therefore reducing the risk of pick errors and loading errors.
- Coaching and encouraging high levels of concentration.
- Initiating corrective actions to ensure targets are achieved for the shift.
- Communicating targets, checking in on progress, and motivating the team.
- Strategic planning alongside the Nights Manager and Warehouse Manager to help maintain a healthy and safety conscious working environment for all employees, whilst maintaining a high standard of delivered product.
- Observing best practice is adhered to at all times.
- Strategically helping manage the night loader team in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
- Engaging in conversation to reinforce compliance as required.
- Providing feedback on corrective measures regarding colleague performance and training requirements.
- Supporting underperformance with encouragement and constructive feedback.
