The Tower Hotel is a 4-star deluxe hotel from the “by Thistle” collection, with 801 bedrooms, a restaurant and bar offering unparalleled views of the River Thames, and 19 meeting rooms also offering stunning views over Tower Bridge and St Katharine Docks.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead the smooth operation, upkeep and presentation of our hotel, ensuring every space - from guest areas to back-of-house operations - is safe, efficient and maintained to the highest standards.

What you’ll be doing
As Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the hotel operates seamlessly day to day. From planned maintenance and compliance to refurbishment projects and reactive repairs, you’ll lead a dedicated maintenance team focused on delivering an outstanding environment for both guests and colleagues. You’ll combine operational expertise with strong people leadership, helping to create a hotel that looks exceptional, functions efficiently and consistently delivers a first-class guest experience.
Maintenance Operations
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across all hotel areas
- Ensure the smooth operation of equipment, plant, services and building infrastructure
- Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance issues, minimising disruption to guests and operations
- Maintain high presentation standards across guest and colleague areas
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, motivate and develop the maintenance team
- Encourage a proactive and solutions-focused approach to maintenance and repairs
- Support training, coaching and development within the department
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and pride in standards
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all health & safety, fire safety and statutory requirements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation and servicing schedules
- Support the creation of a safe environment for guests, colleagues and contractors
- Manage supplier relationships and contractor performance
- Monitor maintenance budgets with a focus on cost control and efficiency
- Support purchasing decisions and sustainable working practices
- Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and reduce costs
Projects & Improvements
- Support and oversee refurbishment and improvement projects across the hotel
- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to agreed standards
- Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance the guest experience and hotel environment
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager or similar role
- Time-served qualification or relevant trade background
- Strong understanding of hotel or building maintenance operations
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards
- Budget management and cost control experience
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Calm and solutions-focused under pressure
- Positive, reliable and highly organised
- Previous experience within hospitality or a similar guest-focused environment
