The Role
Thistle Seafoods are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our HR Department. Candidates should be an experienced HR Advisor or an HR Administrator looking to take the next step in their career. The HR Advisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day generalist duties of the department and liaising with the HR Director regarding overall strategy of the HR department.
Key Responsibilities
- Aiding with the development, implementation and updating of HR policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and customer codes of conduct in relation to all HR activities.
- Creating and overseeing employee engagement initiatives including identifying and retaining key talent across the organisation.
- Advocating a performance culture by promoting performance reviews and providing assistance to managers when required.
- Using HR systems to gather people data and insights to help disseminate relevant company-wide information. For example, staff turnover, cost per hire and length of service.
- Giving counsel and oversee complex employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary cases.
- Representing the HR department consistently and with professionalism and address the workforce with confidence and skill.
- Line manage HR Administrators and provide them with guidance and support.
Candidates must have the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and have strong organisational skills. They must be able to remain calm under pressure and be comfortable communicating with senior managers and dealing with complex employee relations.
