The successful applicant can be based at either our Boddam or Uddingston site. The key responsibilities will likely cover many of those listed below; however, depending upon the successful candidate, we may tweak responsibilities to suit.
The National Account Manager has full profit and loss responsibility for the customer accounts they are assigned. They will work as part of a team who are focused on developing strong relationships and increasing sales with current customers and securing contracts with new customers. To achieve this, the post holder must have a sound knowledge of the company’s products and play a key role in the development, launch and sale of new products.
Key Responsibilities:- Meet and exceed the sales and profit target(s) identified.
- Manage sales to customers as designated by the Commercial Director and the CEO.
- Proactively contact customers to maintain a high level of service, while identifying and exploiting opportunities for profitable growth.
- Generate sales to existing customers.
- Secure new customers.
- Keep detailed and accurate records.
- Develop and implement key sales, promotional strategies, and joint business plans with customers.
- Build strong relationships with retail buying teams.
- Negotiate prices.
- Deliver clear and structured new product development.
- Develop new business opportunities.
- Undertake all line management duties with regard to account managers/trainee account managers.
- Contribute to the overall commercial strategy and growth of the business.
- Support and actively promote brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by ensuring there is engagement and communication between teams, customers and suppliers that continually drives improvement.
- Undertake tasks as directed by the Directors and/or Senior Managers.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- A passion for delivering results and the drive to exceed expectations.

- Self-motivated and a strong commitment to personal development.
- Professional approach and attitude.
- Ideally three years previous sales or commercial experience.
- Previous experience of working within the food industry.
- Ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent.
- Hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
