An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Brewer to join an established and growing independent brewery. We're looking for a passionate brewing professional with strong leadership experience to take ownership of the brewing operation, driving quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across production. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing the entire brewing process, managing the production team and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all brewing and production operations
  • Manage production planning and scheduling to meet business demands
  • Oversee recipe management and support the development of new products
  • Drive quality assurance and quality control across all brewing processes
  • Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, develop and mentor the production team through coaching, training and performance management
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of brewing and packaging equipment
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory management

About You

You'll be an experienced brewer with a genuine passion for producing exceptional beer and developing high-performing teams. You'll ideally have:

  • A recognised brewing qualification
  • At least five years' experience within a commercial brewery
  • Previous leadership or management experience
  • Strong technical brewing knowledge across all production processes
  • Experience with quality management systems and brewery operations
  • A good understanding of maintenance, fault finding and process improvement
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and production costs
