Our Wellbeing Practitioners support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them. Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

We are currently looking for a reliable and flexible male or female personal assistant to become part of a self-organised team supporting a middle-aged man living in his own house in Craigmillar. Support is provided on a 1:1 basis. The working hours are 18 per week plus sleepovers. This individual requires a consistent approach to his personal care, such as showering, dressing and cream application, helping with cooking and cleaning.

He enjoys music & walking around the local area when cool & dry weather permits. On longer journeys, he enjoys strolling in the wheelchair and relaxing in parks or wide-open spaces. He likes music of all kinds, going for walks, restaurants/cafes, listening to music in his sensory room and sometimes visiting the cinema screening autism friendly. He doesn't communicate using words; he uses other ways to communicate his needs and wishes. It is essential for him to have a well-structured routine that allows him to know what is coming next, and following it is important.
