Self employed courier / owner driver

Overview Thistle Couriers LTD is looking for motivated self-employed couriers who have their own van and Hire Reward Insurance to provide collection and delivery services across a variety of industries and locations through the UK. This is NOT Multi-Drop work. Duties Safely operate your own van vehicle to deliver items to various destinations locally and Nationally Plan efficient routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines Handle packages with care, including heavy lifting and secure loading/unloading at warehouses or delivery points Communicate clearly with customers upon delivery, providing excellent service and resolving any issues professionally Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, timestamps, and any delivery exceptions Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure safe transportation at all times Skills Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices Valid driver’s license suitable for operating a van. Ability to perform lifting and manual handling of packages efficiently and safely Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members Familiarity with loading/unloading goods Strong organizational skills for route planning and time management Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation tools to optimize delivery Must have Valad UK Driving licence Own Van Hire Reward Insurance
