The Role: As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you’ll support the smooth running of the housekeeping department, ensuring all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards. You’ll lead, coach and motivate your team, manage rotas and resources, and ensure the department consistently delivers a high‑quality, efficient and guest‑focused service. You’ll also deputise for the Head of Housekeeping when required, taking full responsibility for the department.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the day‑to‑day management of the housekeeping team
  • Allocating daily duties to ensure all rooms and public areas meet brand standards
  • Inspecting accommodation and public spaces to maintain exceptional cleanliness
  • Managing rotas, staffing levels and scheduling to meet operational demands
  • Overseeing laundry operations and stock control of linen and housekeeping supplies
  • Driving consistent service standards and responding to guest requests with professionalism
  • Coaching, training and developing team members to deliver exceptional results
  • Supporting recruitment, inductions and performance management within the department
  • Managing maintenance reporting and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
  • Deputising for the Head of Housekeeping and attending meetings when required
  • Supporting the effective use of systems (including rotas, payroll and stock processes)
  • Maintaining strong communication across departments to support guest satisfaction
