thisbank was relaunched in 2026 but has operated as a UK bank under a former name from 2019. With a rich heritage, thisbank offers a dynamic environment at the cutting edge of modern banking. The bank has transformed under new leadership since January 2023, embracing sustainable, impactful growth with a focus on financing energy-efficient home improvements through retail financing at the point of sale as well as other retail finance products. These loans support customers investing in their homes to become more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

thisbank currently employs ~80 people. It is a digital bank that has no branches. We currently offer savings accounts, forward flow secured loans and retail point of sale loans, with significant product growth plans over the next few years. In August 2023, the Bank complemented its origination capabilities by entering into a forward-flow relationship with a third party, enabling the Bank to acquire beneficial interest in secured mortgages while mitigating operational delivery risk.

Recognising the critical need for the Bank to reach profitability in a timely manner, the Board approved an ‘accelerated strategy’ in September 2023 for the Bank to purchase portfolios of secured consumer mortgages. In 2024, the bank sought outside investment and was ultimately sold to a group of UK and US investors, who have continued to support the Bank’s organic and inorganic growth, resulting in the Bank achieving profitability for the first time in H2 of 2024.

Through 2025, the Bank underwent a significant transformation programme which incorporated a complete overhaul of systems, processes, strategy, direction and ultimately a complete rebrand to thisbank. 2026 plans for the Bank are ones of growth, building on the new consumer-focused brand and via strategic acquisitions. thisbank is building a fair, easy-to-use and supportive banking experience for real people. We’re proud of our heritage and our commitment to trust, inclusivity and innovation. Our culture is open, positive and collaborative; we value diversity in all its forms.

Joining us means being part of a team that cares about customers, colleagues, and making a real impact.

Role Overview

The Business Manager is a delivery and coordination role, supporting the Chief Transformation Officer in translating strategy into action. The role is responsible for improving execution discipline across strategic initiatives, business priorities and Board and Executive Committee activity, ensuring stronger reporting, coordination, follow-through and delivery across the organisation.

This role is suited to a high-performing individual who combines strong judgement, structure and pace. Acting as a trusted partner to the CTO, the Business Manager will help drive strategic initiatives, support operational oversight, coordinate governance and reporting, and ensure that key priorities are effectively tracked and delivered.

The role requires credibility, commercial judgement and the ability to work confidently across leadership teams, holding colleagues to account and helping the business maintain momentum against its growth and transformation agenda. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable operating across strategy, governance, delivery and operational detail, and who can move seamlessly between supporting senior decision-making and executing at a very operational day-to-day level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO Office (CEO and Chief Transformation Officer) in the day-to-day implementation and delivery of business priorities, projects and executive actions.
  • Act as a point of coordination across priorities, ensuring alignment, visibility and momentum across projects, workstreams and business commitments.
  • Provide administrative support to Chief Transformation Officer.
  • Coordinate and track actions arising from Board, Committee, Executive Committee and other senior leadership meetings, ensuring clear ownership, deadlines, follow-up and completion.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, papers, updates, reports and briefing materials for the CTO, of sufficient quality for onward submission to Executive Committee and Board, using advanced PowerPoint and strong attention to detail.
  • Produce regular reporting on the status of strategy, initiatives, deliverables and business priorities, ensuring updates are accurate, timely and clearly set out.
  • Maintain action logs, delivery trackers, programme plans and reporting packs, ensuring progress is visible and slippage, risks or blockers are identified promptly.
  • Follow up with stakeholders across the business to obtain updates, outputs and inputs required for reporting, governance and delivery deadlines.
  • Chase actions and deadlines proactively, ensuring agreed deliverables are progressed and escalating delays or issues where appropriate.
  • Support the coordination and administration of cross-functional projects and change initiatives, ensuring meetings are organised, actions are captured and deliverables are progressed.
  • Assist in the production and coordination of Board and Committee materials, collation of papers (including re-writes to ensure consistency and quality), monitoring of outstanding actions.
  • Help articulate and communicate the priorities, progress and outputs of the CTO and CEO across the wider business through clear and consistent reporting and presentations.
  • Provide practical support to the CTO on a range of business, operational and project matters, including preparing materials, coordinating follow-ups and ensuring agreed actions are implemented.
  • Work across teams and functions to manage upwards, downwards and sideways, helping maintain momentum and alignment on key business deliverables.
  • Review and analyse financial and management information to support reporting, identify key messages and highlight issues requiring attention.
  • Support the preparation of business updates, project updates, Board reports and management information by turning data and input from multiple stakeholders into clear, well-structured outputs.
  • Ensure records, trackers, meeting outputs and reporting documents are kept up to date, accurate and accessible.
  • Provide organisational and delivery support for the CTO including on business planning, executive reviews and other priority business activities, ensuring actions are translated into practical next steps.
  • Provide analytical, organisational and problem-solving support to the CTO on a broad range of business issues, from strategic projects to operational matters.
  • Help improve the quality, consistency and usefulness of management and Board reporting by introducing stronger standards, structure and challenge.
  • Support the CTO in maintaining effective alignment between strategic priorities, operational delivery and organisational capacity.
  • Conduct research, analysis and briefing work on business issues, market developments, competitors and emerging opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, pace, transparency and follow-through, helping teams stay focused on outcomes and delivery.
  • Undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required in support of the CTO and the wider strategic aims of the business.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Business Manager, Chief of Staff support, Executive Office, PMO, project coordination, operations or similar role supporting senior leaders.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally within financial services, banking, fintech or another governance-led sector.
  • Strong experience of coordinating actions, tracking deliverables and supporting implementation across multiple projects, priorities or stakeholders.
  • Experience producing high-quality presentations, Board papers, management information and senior stakeholder reporting.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, with the ability to produce polished, clear and well-structured materials for Executive Committee and Board audiences.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong follow-through and delivery discipline, including the confidence to chase actions, monitor progress and escalate where required.
  • Financial literacy, including the ability to read, understand and analyse financial statements and management information, and draw out key points for reporting purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, spot issues, summarise key messages and present information clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders and colleagues across the business.
  • Experience handling sensitive or confidential matters with discretion, professionalism and good judgement.
  • A practical, hands-on approach, with a willingness to focus on delivery, execution and detail rather than ownership of strategy.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels and manage upwards, downwards and sideways.
  • Resilient, dependable and comfortable operating at pace in a changing environment.
  • A delivery mindset, with a clear focus on outcomes rather than activity.
