This position is a cluster role supporting Hilton Leeds City and Hilton York. This is an on-property based role with travel between the two hotels required. The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and retaining, managing and developing our existing client base, with a key focus on driving key room segments and MICE focus across both properties.
A Sales Executive analyses local market trends and competitor activity to generate new future business for the hotel. What will I be doing? As Sales Executive, you will analyse local market trends and competitor activity to generate new future business for the hotel. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Develop key new business opportunities to secure new business and partnerships.
- Position the hotel to the local market with a focus on business development.
- Identify opportunities across all market segments with specific focus on group, meetings and events.
- Maintain existing client base whilst growing our share of the business and identifying new customers.
- Drive conversion of direct enquiries.
- Review all segments to identify any unexplored opportunities across all your specified market segments.
- Identify opportunities for SME (small, medium, enterprise) agencies/companies by networking and developing unmanaged accounts.
- Attend and initiate sales initiatives, customer appointments, site inspections and tradeshows as required.
- Develop customer accounts on behalf of York and Leeds travelling within the local area to drive business into these hotels.
- Negotiate room rates and packages with corporate clients with the support of the Director of Sales.
- Identify city wide events and develop strategies to deliver business from these events.
- Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions for all relevant segments.
- Support the Sales team with assigned research projects.
- Initiate local partnerships and support any local social media working with RUKI marketing to explore local opportunities.
- Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of key stakeholders.
- Ensure effective short term and long term sales plans are in place with the support of the Director of Sales.
- Actively seek out new ways to source new business.
- Ensure all key pieces of communication have been received and understood by key stakeholders and team as appropriate.
- Play an active part in supporting hotel teams to convert key opportunities from the local market as and when required.
- Produce quality communication of activities and results.
