Senior Strategy Consultant - AI Practice

Please note: This is an advisory / consulting role, we are not looking for backgrounds in data science or technology implementation. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience from a top-tier management consultancy, leading strategic marketing/communications agency, or equivalent.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to join our AI Practice: a small, senior team of strategists, AI experts, and marketers passionate about bringing AI to life in consumer product experiences and marketing operations. We’re looking for someone ready to step-up into a senior role, with deep passion for AI and experience in marketing & product strategy, and/or marketing operations to join our growing team, delivering top-tier strategy advisory to global brands. We’re open to a range of backgrounds. You might be a strategist from a classic consultancy, a planner from a marketing and communications agency, or a candidate from a hybrid consultancy-meets-agency environment (e.g. CX, innovation, brand consulting). Ultimately, we’re more interested in your strategic mindset and problem solving approach than a specific previous role title.

As a Senior Strategy Consultant, most of your time will be spent delivering client projects from initial problem framing through to final recommendations. As a small team, our Senior Strategy Consultants are expected to be able to work independently with light guidance from senior leadership. It is imperative that you have a true passion for AI - this means more than just using ChatGPT. You are reading broadly and regularly in your own time about developments in the AI industry. You are tinkering with different tools in your professional and personal life. And you are knowledgeable about the latest capabilities in this fast moving space and keen to work alongside others who share the same interest.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end strategy consultancy projects for clients, focused on AI product marketing as well as AI implementation within the Marketing function.
• Conduct structured research and analysis to inform strategic recommendations - from market and trend scans to competitive assessments.
• Identify opportunities to drive consumer and business value with AI (within consumer-facing product marketing strategy and marketing operations).
• Turn complex inputs (business goals, brand, culture, people, and technology) into simple, actionable ideas and frameworks.
• Develop compelling, high-quality deliverables for senior client audiences, including research reports, marketing strategy presentations, business cases and workshop materials.
• Support product and brand experience strategy work led by our Strategy and Design teams - contributing to the definition of experience principles, journeys, and systems that guide design and execution.

About you

• Deeply passionate and excited about how AI is changing business and society today and motivated and curious to deepen your expertise in this space.
• You are already up to speed on using all of the mainstream AI tools and well-read on the latest developments in the AI industry.
• Professional background in product, marketing, brand, or communications strategy consulting settings with previous experience structuring and delivering strategic recommendations.
• Experienced working with B2C brands, particularly within consumer goods and tech - with your own point of view on the challenges those categories face.
• Proven client-facing experience advising executives in marketing or product strategy roles with confidence and empathy.
• Excellent general business acumen and exceptional problem solving skills - able to contribute to both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution, ensuring work ladders to a larger vision.
• Experience collaborating with creative teams and designers to translate strategic visions into functional outputs is a bonus, particularly if you have a track record of translating strategic intent into high-impact functional outputs.
• Driven, responsible, highly proactive and self directed but also highly flexible, relaxed and resilient in fast-paced, highly changeable environments - we’re a start-up team working in an industry that’s moving at a rate of knots.
• You are low-ego and collaborative. You understand that priorities shift, work evolves or changes direction, and feedback is an opportunity to improve.
• You seek input, stay curious, and see learning as part of the job - with a focus on improving rather than being right.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.

Benefits

• Salary in the region of 50-55K GBP per annum depending on experience.
• Remote first, with regular opportunities to collaborate in-person as a team.
• 25 days holiday days, in addition to bank holidays.
• Company pension with 4% employer contribution.
• Up to 20 days per year overseas working per year.

Location

This is a remote-first role. While you will primarily work remotely, you must be based in or around London and be flexible to attend in-person team gatherings in central London with 24 hours' notice. Candidates must also be willing to transition to a hybrid model (e.g., 1-2 days per week in the office) in a London office space in the long term. Additionally, the role requires flexibility for international travel and taking calls outside of standard UK business hours when needed.
