We are looking for experienced Engineering Project Managers to join our Engineering team leading one or more of our Electronic Warfare or Cyber Security projects. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-discipline team to specify, build and deliver cutting edge embedded systems for a range of domains including; Electronic Warfare, IP Communications Systems and Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR).

What the role will involve:
- Managing a complex development programme involving a cross functional engineering team
- Leading key design reviews in accordance with process (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR etc)
- Estimating, scheduling and tracking progress amongst the engineering team and reporting earned value metrics including CPI, SPI, ETC, BCWS, BCWP and ACWP
- Managing risks and planning mitigation strategies to minimise technical risk
- Interfacing with and presenting to key stakeholders including customers, regulatory authorities and, internally, with senior managers
- Guiding a new product development through the systems engineering lifecycle ensuring compliance against internal processes and legal and safety standards
- Contributing to the generation of technical proposals, bids and supporting internal review, governance and sign-off.
- Guiding and mentoring engineers to support skills development within the wider team.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of leading an engineering development programme and applying Earned Value Management techniques
- Good experience of Project Management and familiarity with Microsoft Project and other engineering management tools such as JIRA
- Experience of working under tight time pressures and interfacing with key stakeholders including customers
- Experience in leading a team of engineers of multiple disciplines and levels.
- A good understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and key design reviews and artefacts
- Previous relevant experience, ideally in engineering or with relevant transferable skills in a Defence, Aerospace or other complex embedded environment.
Additional Skills and Experience:
- Proven ability to manage projects through the entire engineering development lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills working with a wide range of stakeholders, both inside and outside the organisation, with an ability to lead and influence engineers, managers and customers.
- Awareness of a range of engineering skills, disciplines and development methodologies.
- At least five years of experience within systems, software or hardware engineering, ideally in the defence and/or security markets with at least two years’ experience in a project leadership role.
