THE ROLE
The purpose of the Analytics Team is to deliver insightful and actionable analysis that answers our clients’ objectives in a timely manner. This role will assist the Head of Analytics and Chief Data Scientist in shaping and developing new solutions and models to deliver on client’s objectives. The post holder will be responsible for the shaping on the R&D branch of the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems using Azure ML
- Work with the team on creating bespoke models and segmentation to assist our clients in their understanding of their customers
- Collaborate with product and development departments to understand company needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Define and manage rollout of new analytical products and models across both the Analytics team and the wider business
- Advise on the suitability of different statistical techniques to solve difficult problems, both with internal and external stakeholders
- Design and implement data experiments, conduct A/B testing, and evaluate product performance using appropriate statistical techniques
- Create roadmap of new modelling, prioritising based on business needs and managing the resourcing and delivery plan
- Be a champion of best practice for GAIN’s data science technology and processes
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and analytics tools and techniques, and apply them to drive innovation
- Ability to communicate results and ideas to key decision makers
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (Databricks, Azure, GCP etc.)
- Experience with machine learning platforms (preferably Azure ML)
- Previous experience with customer data
- Analytical mind and business acumen with Data-oriented personality
- Knowledge of retail and marketing data requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: can explain complex analytical work in a logical way which can be understood by a non-analytical audience
- Strong applied statistical skills, such as clustering, statistical testing, classification etc
- Capable of planning and managing own time to ensure timely delivery of projects

- Key point of contact in the business for modelling and product development
- All models are delivered successful to specification and schedule
- Our modelling capabilities are enhanced through effective development of new products
- Best practice in the team is established and followed
- Recommendations for improvements to existing products are identified and implemented
- Stakeholders are kept up to date on all projects and long-term roadmap

- Accurate and timely delivery of new data science projects, to technical specifications and ensuring the solution of key client objectives
- Continual improvement achieved as a result of identifying and implementing improvements and replacements of existing analytics products
- Good relationships built with internal teams, recognised as a Data Science lead for cross departmental projects
