The Senior Motion Designer plays a key role in delivering high-quality, creative motion graphics and animation across This is Beyond’s events, campaigns, and brand initiatives. This role combines hands-on creative leadership with people management, guiding and supporting designers to deliver consistent, impactful work while maintaining high visual, technical, and brand standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Creative Development & Delivery
- Conceptualise, design, and deliver engaging motion graphics and animations across social media, digital campaigns, brand films, and on-site content.
- Collaborate with the Creative Team to develop motion-led storytelling that supports campaign objectives and brand identity.
- Contribute creative input across projects, from ideation and moodboarding through to storyboarding and final delivery.
- Create and adapt assets using strong foundations in design principles, colour theory, typography, and layout, with a motion-first mindset.
- Support the creation of immersive brand worlds for This is Beyond’s portfolio of events through impactful visual content.
- Technical Excellence & Innovation
- Deliver high production values across all motion outputs, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and technical accuracy.
- Confidently manage video editing and post-production, including audio syncing, transitions, colour grading, and basic sound design.
- Work across multiple formats and output requirements, ensuring best practice for each platform (social, web, widescreen, on-site).
- Apply knowledge of 3D animation tools (Cinema 4D or Blender) and rendering engines (Redshift, Octane, or C4D render) where relevant.
- Stay up to date with motion design trends, emerging tools, and technologies, applying learnings to elevate creative output and sharing insights with the team.
- Project & Workflow Management
- Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, balancing creative ambition with deadlines and resource constraints.
- Collaborate with the Art Director and Creative Team to map timelines, define deliverables, and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Take ownership of motion output across multiple shows and campaigns, ensuring clarity, quality control, and alignment with wider objectives.
- Actively contribute to improving creative workflows, templates, and systems that support team-wide efficiency and consistency.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Working
- Work closely with Marketing and Operations teams to ensure creative output supports campaign goals, event execution, and brand strategy.
- Support brand activations and large-scale installations, including motion content for physical environments and live experiences.
- Foster a collaborative culture by contributing ideas, embracing feedback, and supporting colleagues across departments.
Core Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in motion design, animation, or video production, with at least 2 years working as a Motion Designer.
- Experience in a creative agency, studio, or fast-paced in-house creative environment preferred.
- Experience delivering motion content for digital marketing, social media, and large-scale installations.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender; familiarity with rendering engines (Redshift, Octane, C4D render) a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of export formats and technical requirements across multiple platforms.
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and interactive media advantageous.
- Experience guiding, mentoring, or supporting designers, helping raise creative standards across the team.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative rationale and receive feedback constructively.
- High attention to detail and pride in craft, with a passion for creating visually compelling work.
- Organised, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during event periods.

Position Type: Permanent, with a 4-day working week. Our hybrid model includes 3 days in the office (located in Shepherd's Bush), 1 day working from home, and every Friday as a non-working day as standard.
