The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design for live events and exhibitions, with a deep understanding of branding and design strategies. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing both large-scale campaigns and smaller on-site projects, and overseeing the production of print and activation designs.

You will also be responsible for artworking assets across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality execution from concept to delivery. As part of the creative team, you will guide and mentor two Midweight Graphic Designers, ensuring all work aligns with the brand and business goals. Reporting to the Art Director, you will also work closely with the Marketing Project Manager to ensure smooth workflow, timely execution, and alignment with event objectives. The role requires someone who thrives under pressure, with exceptional attention to detail and strong technical skills.

What you will do:

Collaborate with operations, marketing, and programming teams to conceptualise and execute designs for the built environment and event activations.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with the Art Director and senior team members to define creative strategies. Provide guidance and feedback to junior and midweight designers, fostering skill development and professional growth.
  • Project Management & Coordination: Partner with the Marketing Project Manager to ensure designs align with event goals and deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Trend Analysis & Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying these insights to projects and sharing knowledge with junior and mid-weight designers.
  • Activation Support: Collaborate with the operations, marketing, and sales teams to support activation concepts, creating renders and presentations for client pitches and supplier briefs.
  • Leadership & Development: Lead and develop two direct reports, fostering continuous professional growth for yourself and your team.
  • Team Collaboration & Performance: Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve event objectives. Work with the Project Manager to organise team workflows, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed accurately.
  • Onsite Supervision & Contribution: Supervise onsite teams during events, encouraging inclusivity and team morale. Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving, consistently meeting deadlines and delivering tasks efficiently. Collaborate effectively with departments such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other internal stakeholders.

What you will need:

  • Experience: 7+ years working within a fast-paced design or integrated agency, with a proven track record (minimum 2 years) in a senior creative role.
  • A degree in a design discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Stand out portfolio with examples of work across multiple channels and large scale campaigns, including social, OOH and digital.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects a plus), Figma, and other relevant platforms. Experience in Sketch Up or other 3D render software is a plus.
  • Self-starter who is customer-obsessed, detail-oriented and an enthusiastic team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to take designs through to production for print applications.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, visually compelling designs.
  • Proven conceptual thinker with a talent for developing innovative design solutions.
