The role: Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at This is Beyond plays a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth. This role combines leadership of the marketing & operational strategy for the company and all associated global events, alongside oversight of key internal teams across creative, marketing operations, CRM, digital and event content programming. As CMO, you will be responsible for shaping the marketing vision, driving cross-functional alignment & procedures, and ensuring all marketing initiatives are cohesively executed to align with This is Beyond’s broader business objectives. You will also work closely with the Chief of Staff and other key leadership team members to optimise business processes, lead internal communications, and contribute to the broader strategic direction, including supporting organisational development.
What you will do:
- Develop and execute a unified marketing strategy that aligns with business goals, ensuring marketing initiatives directly support the company’s growth and the successful execution of its events.
- Support the event marketing teams in the creation and implementation of an annual marketing plan for their shows, delivering against business goals and ensuring a deep understanding of audience needs and positioning.
- Brand Management: Continually enhance the This is Beyond brand across all touchpoints, building retention, awareness, and the company’s reputation within the luxury travel industry. Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns that support the brand’s strategic objectives, ensuring high levels of retention, recognition, and engagement.
- Process Optimisation & Efficiency: Drive efficiency by introducing new processes, systems, and frameworks that optimise internal workflows, supporting This is Beyond’s organisational growth and operational maturity. Introduce and manage new marketing processes, ensuring streamlined workflows across teams, including the creative, CRM, and digital functions and the broader Events teams. Identify and implement opportunities for optimisation, refining processes, strategies, and tactics based on feedback and performance metrics to improve results over time.
- Performance Marketing: Utilise data-driven approaches to optimise marketing performance, including leveraging analytics tools to track, report on, and improve marketing ROI.
- Budget & Financial Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, utilising ROI-based decision-making to ensure optimal spend and efficient resource allocation. Manage the marketing budget with a focus on cost efficiency, forecasting, and reporting, while ensuring that spending aligns with strategic priorities.
- Goal Achievement: Deliver measurable outcomes that align with both short-term and long-term objectives, including growth in audience engagement, event success, and overall business development. Play a critical role in the successful launch of new products and markets, driving awareness, acquisition, and growth through targeted marketing strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coordination: Ensure alignment across departments (marketing, events, sales, product, and finance), ensuring that marketing strategies are integrated seamlessly into broader business operations. Facilitate collaboration between teams (creative, digital, CRM, events, and product) to ensure cohesive messaging and the successful execution of cross-functional marketing initiatives. Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing central marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of marketing professionals, ensuring strong collaboration and a shared vision for success. Foster a culture of continuous learning, creativity, and performance management.
- Stakeholder Management & Internal Communications: Maintain strong relationships with senior leadership, ensuring that marketing objectives and progress are consistently aligned with the strategic direction of the business. Play a key role in supporting the "Get the House in Order" project and improving internal processes through collaboration with the Chief of Staff, aligning all teams around the company’s core vision and objectives.
What you will need:
- Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in a senior marketing or leadership role, with a strong background in B2B marketing, ideally within the luxury travel, events, or trade show sectors.
- Proven track record of leading, growing, and managing high-performing teams.
- Significant experience in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across multiple channels, including digital, CRM, PR, branding, and campaign management.
- Experience in financial planning and budget management, with the ability to make ROI-based decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest marketing trends and techniques, with a strong understanding of data analytics and performance marketing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail, able to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible business hours as required.
- Capacity to work flexible hours as required when on-site.
- Perform additional ad hoc duties as required to support business operations and team objectives.

Position Type: Permanent, with a 4-day working week. Our hybrid model includes 3 days in the office (located in Shepherd's Bush), 1 day working from home, and every Friday as a non-working day as standard.
