Senior Infrastructure Acquisition Manager (EMEA)

Fastly is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Acquisition Manager to join our growing Global Network Infrastructure Team. This role will be part of the Network Acquisition team that is responsible for the network acquisition for Fastly’s network expansion across the globe. The role requires both a business and technical approach: the ability to network, negotiate, and manage projects while mindfully managing key details around colocation, connectivity, and cloud services use. The role will support the rapid growth of our global network infrastructure by acquiring data centre services, IP connectivity, dark fiber and wavelength services, and owning the supplier lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for providing input to develop the overall strategy and negotiation for Fastly’s network expansion goals across a defined region (EMEA).
  • Evaluate and manage risk associated with global sourcing of datacentre and connectivity related services.
  • Operate as a key business partner to lead all aspects of the supplier lifecycle for Fastly’s portfolio of datacentre, IP connectivity, dark fiber, and other infrastructure services.
  • Manage a subset of supplier relationships. Assess supplier performance, spend, invoicing accuracy, and other internal metrics to drive efficiency.
  • Provide guidance to business leaders by understanding acquisition strategy, market dynamics, risk and exposure, and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with Sales to better understand customer requirements and how they align with Fastly infrastructure investments.
  • Independently initiate and lead complex negotiations and contract reviews with suppliers.
  • Partner with project managers to guide deployments, upgrades, and augment activities.
  • Analyze network telemetry to develop interconnection strategies and work with partners to ensure that there is adequate capacity to meet business needs.
  • Participate in weekly network planning and capacity reviews; create budgets, forecasts, and related reports as necessary.
  • Provide mentorship to new and less experienced team members on the Network Acquisition team.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in negotiation and sourcing of data centre and connectivity services across Europe.
  • Specific experience in IP transit and peering negotiation for Content Delivery Network (CDN), Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Internet eXchanges.
  • Knowledge of the Interconnect environment in the region.
  • Knowledge of the Data Centre market.
  • You must be an independent self-starter who can work with a high-degree of autonomy and independence.
  • You must be capable of running and prioritizing multiple projects in the context of larger cross-functional initiatives.
  • You must be organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You must possess strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to use planning and analysis tools.
  • Fluent in English.

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Experience/knowledge about other regions (North America, Latin America, APAC, etc.).
  • Participation in technical or community forums and groups related to the field.
  • Additional language skills.
