The Group Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the treasury operations and ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting related to cash management, risk assessment, investments, and other treasury activities. This role requires a strong understanding of financial markets, accounting principles, and risk management strategies. The Group Treasury Manager will work closely with the Group Treasury team, Group Finance team, and other finance team members across the Dechra Group to ensure effective treasury operations and compliance with financial regulations.

Role Responsibility

This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Cash Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting, monitor cash positions, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs, with particular emphasis on managing interest payments and fees on external debt.
  • Banking Relationships: Manage relationships with financial institutions involved with the Group's external debt facilities and with the Group's Private Equity owners.
  • Investments: Oversee investment strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and risk tolerance.
  • Hedging and Risk Management: Identify and implement risk management strategies, including foreign exchange and interest rate hedging, to mitigate financial risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies related to treasury and accounting functions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports related to treasury activities, such as cash flow statements, covenant compliance on external debt, and bank reconciliations.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls over treasury operations to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other finance team members across the Group to support daily banking queries, month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Responsible for own personal health & safety.

Essential

  • Excellent planning, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in Hedge Accounting.
  • Experience within a Bank/Corporate Treasury environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and treasury management systems.
  • Proficiency in treasury management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in cash flow forecasting, including analysing cash inflows and outflows, assessing liquidity needs.
  • Experience in investing in and managing Money Market Funds to optimise short-term liquidity and returns.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and pro-active in all aspects of the role.
  • Strong communication skills. Comfortable communicating in any medium and to any size audience in an inspiring and credible way and able to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills on an international level.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management abilities.
  • Be a self-starter with resilience.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders internal and external to Dechra.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of any or all of the following systems: Salmon Software, CoProcess, CashOptix or similar systems would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working with Private Equity.

Additional Information:

Occasional global travel may be required with this role. This role is based in our Northwich office on a hybrid basis.
