An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a brand-new Bonded Warehouse and Retail Fulfilment Centre near Heathrow as a General Manager - Bonded Warehouse. This is a unique chance to build and scale a warehouse operation from scratch, taking full ownership of people, process, and performance.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader in bonded warehousing, particularly within the airline retail or inflight services sector. You'll be responsible for end-to-end operations, full regulatory compliance, and leading a team through the start-up and growth phase.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of warehouse operations including inbound, outbound, stock, and fulfilment
- Lead and develop a medium sized team through effective management of 2-3 supervisors
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC, CAA, food safety, health & safety, and aviation security regulations
- Oversee infrastructure setup, process design, and staff onboarding during launch
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Own site-level P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Strong experience managing Bonded Warehouse operations, ideally within airline services
- Proven success in senior leadership roles (General Manager, Operations Manager, etc.)
- Excellent people leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in WMS/ERP platforms and operational performance reporting
