Our client is a well-established food manufacturer seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to join their team. As a growing business, they are looking for someone to lead, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operations of their production facility. This position offers a unique opportunity to make an impact on both operational efficiency and staff development within a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily production operations to meet customer expectations
  • Effectively allocate resources and optimise asset usage to maximise results
  • Oversee product quality, output, and on-time logistics
  • Monitor processes and take corrective actions where necessary
  • Keep up to date with best practices and production management techniques
  • Foster cross-department collaboration, including procurement, distribution, and management
  • Manage and develop a team of supervisors and staff (approximately 50 staff across 5 supervisors)
  • Collaborate with Directors to implement cost-saving strategies and operational improvements
  • Address employee concerns and grievances

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager in the food industry
  • Ideally you will have experience of a complex food production
  • Demonstrated staff management and development experience
  • Knowledge of quality standards and health & safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Hands-on, lead-by-example attitude, with a willingness to jump in and support the team when needed
