We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider working on a long-term public sector contract. This is a mobile field-based role covering South London, responsible for delivering planned maintenance and reactive repairs across a high volume of sites.
You will be working on a critical public sector contract supporting multiple sites, each with commercial kitchens, dormitories, and associated building services infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas systems
- Fault-find and diagnose breakdowns across gas plant and heating systems
- Work on boilers, water heaters, pipework, gas air heaters, and radiant tube heaters
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Carry out minor installation and remedial works
- Produce technical reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation
- Identify and quote for remedial works and lifecycle replacements
- Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations, RAMS, and H&S standards
- Liaise with contract teams and client representatives
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Commercial Gas qualifications (Gas Safe registered)
- Strong background in gas servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding
- Experience in building services or FM environments
- Full UK driving licence
Highly Desirable
- Experience working on public sector or critical infrastructure contracts
- Multi-skilled background (mechanical / electrical awareness)
- Experience working with high-volume PPM/reactive workloads
- Strong reporting and client-facing communication skills
