YHA Hawkshead are looking to recruit team members for 25 to 42.5 hours per week till November 2024. YHA Hawkshead lies in the picturesque landscape of the South Lakes, on the shores of Esthwaite Water. With Hawkshead village only a mile away, and Grizedale Forest right on our doorstep, this is a perfect location to enjoy what the area has to offer. YHA Hawkshead is a large hostel with a wide range of rooms, bell tents, tipis and pods on offer. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in professional growth and developing leadership skills.
What can YHA offer you?
- We pay £11.44 per hour, 25 – 42.5 hours a week. This role is temporary, until November 2024.
- We can offer live-in accommodation if required (the current staff accommodation charge is £63.70 per week).

The Role: Your Key Contributions
As a Hospitality Team Member, you’ll play a crucial role in making our guests’ experiences memorable. Your efforts will be at the core of our mission to provide exceptional hospitality, regardless of your background or experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Providing warm hospitality and great customer service to all our customers, members and guests.
- Working on reception and offering insights about the hostel and the local area, ensuring every guest feels informed and welcomed.
- Utilising our systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs and food & beverage sales and service.
- Carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable and clean environment for all guests.
- Assisting in the preparation of food in the kitchen and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality, and pride.
