PVG Membership Requirements
Roles that require PVG membership will require candidates to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full‑time Volunteer Equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non‑members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first full month’s salary. PVG membership cost details apply to teaching roles at Grade 11 and above (£31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour).

Minimum Qualifications
- Appropriate teaching qualification
- Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector, or eligibility for such registration
- PVG scheme membership – Working with Children

- Understanding of the General Teaching Council for Scotland Standards, Career‑Long Professional Learning, Code of Conduct and Scheme of Professional Update
- Commitment to continued personal and professional development in line with GTCS expectations
- Completion of Aberdeen City Council mandatory training courses and role‑specific training
