Summary The European Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for working with distributor and wholesale clients throughout Europe to develop the brands and distribution in the region.
- General Responsibilities
- Sales Planning
- Develop detailed annual business plan and sales strategies to include by distributor/by country.
- Distribution plan (distributors, market penetration by product category, account growth plans, etc.).
- Key Account Plan (How to maximize key account growth).
- Merchandising plan (display type, size, product minimums, deployment, etc.).
- Develop quarterly and annual sales plans to maximize pre-books and in store inventory levels.
- Detailed annual budget consisting of: Annual budget by distributor/ Expense budget to include travel, marketing, co-op, etc.
- Review purchasing forecast to ensure it is in line with budget/ Assist with seasonal forecasting process.
- Sales Duties
- Lead and develop the distributors to support sales strategies and to deliver exceptional, profitable sales growth and results.
- Work with each distributor to develop short and long term plans to develop each market and product category within their territory.
- Day-to-day oversight of sales within your territory, including travelling with the distributor sales teams and visiting each distributor a minimum of twice per year.
- Review monthly sales numbers to ensure that monthly/quarterly/yearly goals are achieved.
- Provide monthly weekly recap to VP of Sales outlining key accomplishments for the week, challenges, account visits, market conditions, support needed, etc.
- Develop and implement sales training tools and processes.
- Determine and implement the most appropriate structure to achieve revenue goals, secure new business opportunities and win customers.
- Develop strong ties with key customers and key accounts and be proactive in understanding the trends and issues likely to impact the market.
- Ensure that Key Accounts are managed properly and that we provide excellent service and support to these customers.
- Assist in planning and execution of seasonal sales meeting for EMEA.
- Attend and support key tradeshows.
- Minimum Job Requirements:
- 3-5 years in a similar capacity working as a Territory Manager with successful proven track record in the consumer product goods industry. Position requires 50-75% travel.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications or Marketing is preferred.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Ability to persuade and influence others effectively, in a tactful and professional manner.
- Work requires travel, primarily in assigned region. The position requires the ability to conduct business while on the road.
- Knowledge and sales experience within the apparel industry a must.
- Knowledge of Territory. Must live centrally located within territory.
