Role Overview:

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Support Service Coordinator to join our Specialist Housing team in North Durham. This role would be 28 hours a week. You would join our women's refuge which supports women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

This post is open to women only in accordance with The Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 and are subject to Enhanced DBS checks & satisfactory references.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You’ll deliver a quality, customer focussed support and guidance service, and be responsible for contributing to the success of the refuge service, building relationships and partnerships with residents, colleagues and partner organisations.
  • You’ll work either 9am-5pm, or 11am-7pm, 4 days per week. You’ll also be on call on a 4 week rota (3 weeks on one night a week and then 1 week of 1 night + the weekend).
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to pick up additional hours on a relief basis, working across other schemes to gain insight into other parts of the business and create strong working relationships across teams.

About You:

  • We are looking for someone with previous experience of working with vulnerable people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
  • You’ll understand support plans, risk assessments, safety planning, safeguarding policies and procedures, benefit claims and housing applications.
  • You’ll be able to prioritise your workload and support our residents in a flexible and person-centred way, so you must have emotional resilience and the ability to deal constructively with challenging behaviour.
  • A full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle and ability to travel across the region is required is essential.
