Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Head of Strategic Finance to drive organisational success through expert financial insight, business partnering, and strong treasury and tax oversight. You’ll promote strong financial stewardship and deliver a funding strategy that enables the delivery of our ambitious strategic priorities.

This is a hybrid role, so you’ll work from home and around 2-3 days a week from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough. We’ll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 3 direct reports and lead a service of 13 colleagues, with responsibility for finance business partnering and appraisals, tax, treasury and financial planning functions.
  • Deliver trusted financial analysis and insight that supports strategic decision making, strengthens business performance and supports effective resource allocation.
  • With overall responsibility for the financial plan, you’ll support your team to deliver comprehensive financial modelling and stress testing, bringing opportunities and risks to life.
  • Maintain and strengthen excellent relationships with banking partners, lenders, advisors and stakeholders to secure funding opportunities that enable continued investment and service enhancements for our customers.

About You:

  • You’ll have a recognised accounting body or treasury qualification, with significant post qualification experience.
  • With leadership experience within a finance business partnering role, you'll have supported your team to deliver service excellence whilst demonstrating an understanding of the bigger picture and how to allocate resources effectively.
  • Great at people engagement and communication, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build trust at all levels, particularly with lenders and key external stakeholders.
  • A track record in designing and implementing policies and strategies, ideally within tax, treasury and planning services.
  • You’ll be confident in preparing and presenting reports for leadership, committees and boards to support informed decision making, bringing complex financial topics to life.
