Role Overview

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for an Empty Homes Service Operative to join our Repairs team, working across our operational areas.

In this practical and rewarding role, you’ll clean our empty properties to make sure they are safe, fresh and ready for new customers to call home. You’ll also carry out pre-cleans before repair work begins, helping our teams access properties safely and ensuring work can progress smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough cleaning of empty homes once repairs have been completed, ensuring they are safe, clean and ready for customers
  • Complete pre-cleans where required, providing safe access and a suitable working environment before repairs begin
  • Clean rooms, floors, surfaces, fixtures, fittings, windows, doors, bathrooms and kitchens to the required standards
  • Use cleaning products, equipment, protective clothing and vehicles safely and responsibly
  • Inspect properties after cleaning, addressing any issues where possible and promptly reporting hazards, damage or barriers to achieving the required standard
  • Work closely with empty homes teams, planners, supervisors, inspectors and contractors to support efficient property handovers


About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a good understanding of cleaning practices and health and safety requirements
  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality work and preparing homes to a consistently good standard
  • Has a basic level of education, with literacy and numeracy skills suitable for the role
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is able to travel extensively across our operational areas
  • Can use mobile devices, digital communication tools and other relevant IT systems effectively
  • Is organised, able to prioritise work and willing to work flexibly across different locations
