Join us as a Business Analyst at Thirteen Group!

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Business Analyst to join our Transformation and Change team on a fixed‑term contract for 16 months. You will deliver discovery and analysis activity that supports our Change and Transformation programmes. Working with stakeholders, you will understand problems, capture requirements and help define solutions that deliver measurable customer and business value. This is a hybrid role, so you can work from home and at least 2–3 days a week from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough. We will need you to be flexible around business and team needs, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis for change initiatives, capturing business needs, understanding problems and opportunities, and translating them into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews and research activities to gather insight, evidence and stakeholder perspectives that shape discovery outputs.
  • Document and analyse business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, challenging existing practices, and contributing to the development of business cases and solution options.
  • Translate requirements into user stories or specifications, supporting service design, customer journey mapping and collaborative design approaches.
  • Support solution delivery and validation, working with project teams to ensure testing, quality assurance and final outputs meet requirements and deliver value.
  • Apply and improve business analysis practice, building strong relationships, using consistent methods and tools, sharing lessons learned and collaborating with colleagues across the organisation.

About You

  • You will bring relevant business analysis qualifications or equivalent experience, with certifications such as BCS or Agile BA considered an advantage.
  • You have strong analytical skills and experience using business analysis techniques to capture requirements and shape effective solutions.
  • You understand requirements management, process mapping and business case development, applying these confidently in your work.
  • You have fantastic communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders to gather insight and feedback.
  • You can work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams, contributing to a positive and productive project environment.
  • You will take a structured, methodical approach to analysis, ensuring consistency, clarity and high standards in everything you deliver.
