Join us as a Support Service Worker at Thirteen Group!

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Support Service Worker to join our Refugee Resettlement Team based in Redcar for 9 months. In this rewarding role, you’ll work directly with refugee families, offering tailored support to help them integrate into the local community. You’ll manage a caseload and deliver person‑centred support planning and interventions, ensuring each individual receives the guidance they need. This is a roaming role, meaning your work will primarily take place in customers’ homes, community centres, and our team office in Redcar and Cleveland. You’ll also have the opportunity to work from home a couple of days each month. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to attend the office more frequently depending on business and team needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft person-centred support plans that move the customer forward and support integration into UK society, in addition to accurate record keeping.
  • Deliver person-centred support, linking in with and referring to key services to ensure the best outcome for the customer.
  • Plan and deliver group sessions to customers that aid their integration and understanding of the UK, promoting community engagement and wellbeing.
  • Build relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.

About You

  • You are a clear and confident communicator, able to build trust and rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • You are resilient, adaptable, and accountable, able to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • You are skilled in time management, with the ability to independently manage your diary and workload to meet service demands.
  • You have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding when working with vulnerable customers.
  • You have previous experience of working with individuals in a supporting context.
  • You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as the role involves regular travel across Redcar and Cleveland to visit customers in their homes and community settings.
  • It would be a bonus if you are fluent in Arabic, Dari or Farsi.
