Thirteen Group is on the lookout for an Accommodation Support Worker for our Offender Services team in Durham. You’ll aid the delivering of a service, ensuring ex-offenders secure and maintain suitable and settled accommodation in the North East. This role currently ends in February 2027, but has the potential to be made permanent. The role requires a blend of work in the community and within custodial settings. This is a fast-paced role working within a dynamic team and requires you to be a self-starter who can meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You’ll manage your own caseload and give people clear advice, support and guidance to help them find and keep a home.
  • You’ll assess what each person needs, spot any risks early and connect them with the right specialist help.
  • You’ll work closely with the National Probation Service to plan for releases and secure good-quality accommodation that fits their needs.
  • You’ll run one-to-one sessions and group activities to build life skills and confidence.
  • You’ll keep accurate digital records and hit the performance targets we’ve agreed with the Ministry of Justice.

About You:

  • You know the criminal justice system and feel confident supporting people with complex lives.
  • You’re great at using everyday IT, including Microsoft apps, and can manage caseloads on digital systems.
  • You communicate clearly, stay calm in tough moments and know how to de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • You understand local housing options, legislation and support services in the Northumbria area.
  • You have experience delivering one-to-one and group sessions and can motivate others to make positive changes.
  • You’ve got a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, and you’re happy to travel across the region.
