Responsibilities
- Work in the Ministry of Justice accommodation support service team to ensure ex-offenders secure and maintain suitable and settled accommodation in the North East, enabling them to build on their life skills.
- Give clear advice, support and guidance to help them find and keep a home.
- Develop support plans and risk assessments to track progress and positive outcomes.
- Assess individual needs, identify risks early and connect people with specialist help.
- Keep accurate digital records and meet performance targets agreed with the Ministry of Justice.
- Communicate clearly, stay calm in difficult moments and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Use everyday IT, including Microsoft apps, and manage caseloads on digital systems.
- Promote safeguarding, local housing options, legislation and support services.
- Manage a caseload of varying complexity and deliver both one-to-one and group interventions.
- Travel across the region, using a full UK driving licence and vehicle.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting people with complex lives.
- Ability to motivate others to make positive changes.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Good IT skills and ability to use digital systems.
- Understanding of safeguarding, local housing legislation and support services.
- Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle.
