Responsibilities

  • Work in the Ministry of Justice accommodation support service team to ensure ex-offenders secure and maintain suitable and settled accommodation in the North East, enabling them to build on their life skills.
  • Give clear advice, support and guidance to help them find and keep a home.
  • Develop support plans and risk assessments to track progress and positive outcomes.
  • Assess individual needs, identify risks early and connect people with specialist help.
  • Keep accurate digital records and meet performance targets agreed with the Ministry of Justice.
  • Communicate clearly, stay calm in difficult moments and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Use everyday IT, including Microsoft apps, and manage caseloads on digital systems.
  • Promote safeguarding, local housing options, legislation and support services.
  • Manage a caseload of varying complexity and deliver both one-to-one and group interventions.
  • Travel across the region, using a full UK driving licence and vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with complex lives.
  • Ability to motivate others to make positive changes.
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use digital systems.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, local housing legislation and support services.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle.
  • All successful candidates will be subject to National Security Vetting and Prison Clearance.
