Thirteen is on the lookout for a Digital Communications and Marketing specialist to join our team at Hudson Quay, Middlesbrough. We’re looking for a highly talented digital communications expert to play a crucial role in our busy team, working across the business to cover all elements of digital communications activity with our wide range of stakeholders.
Role Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our Communications and Marketing Team. You’ll be responsible for leading on our digital communications channels, making sure they are all optimised for high performance with purpose, and planning, delivering, and evaluating accessible communications that meet the needs of our customers, partners and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Customer Communications and Marketing Manager in planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating agile, effective, and informed digital communications strategy and activity.
- You’ll lead on the planning, creation, execution, and evaluation of our digital communications, including a digital editorial calendar.
- Oversee the management of analytics tools and digital platforms, including website CMS, intranet, CRM, and social media.
- Make sure our digital communications are accessible, clear, concise, useful, and engaging.
- Lead on shaping and delivering customer‑facing digital communications that are relevant and timely, while meeting WCAG standards, prioritising inclusive and accessible design, and ensuring every user can easily understand and act on the information we provide.
- Use insight, data, and user research to build a deep understanding of our diverse customer base, their behaviours, digital habits, and communication needs, ensuring all digital activity is shaped around what matters most to them.
- Create digital content in a range of formats, including producing and editing videos and leading on photography, to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to and we fulfil the diverse communications needs of our varied audience base.
- Lead on the evaluation of our digital communications activity, helping us understand the impact we’re having through our digital communications, so we can constantly refine it to improve engagement.
About You: We’re looking for someone to join our Communications and Marketing team who:
- Has a creative eye and the ability to create, design and produce cut through communications.
- A brilliant understanding of digital communications channels.
- An understanding of content design principles and a user-centred approach to communication, information, and design.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment with ability to plan and prioritise.
- Is proactive and highly productive.
- Has a growth mindset and the ability to drive positive change.
- Can enable great collaboration with colleagues and teams.
- Must possess a valid Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle.
