Role Overview:

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Governance Manager to join our Governance team in Middlesbrough. This is a new role to Thirteen, and you will be responsible for planning, structuring, and leading the administration of the Governance Team, including Board and Committee meetings, ensuring that all business is carried out in a thorough and timely manner to strengthen the governance within each committee and keep them on track with their annual meeting cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep the board and committees running smoothly with great communication and managing the schedule.
  • Responsible for putting together agendas and papers for board and committee meetings, and write up detailed minutes that capture discussions and decisions.
  • Look after recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing board and committee members, plus arranging their yearly reviews.
  • Make sure Thirteen stays on the right side of the law and follows regulator rules and governance principles.
  • Check and track how well we’re sticking to the Governance Standard and NHF Code of Governance.
  • Help the Director of Governance keep everything ticking over, especially during planned Regulatory Inspections and Board Development Events.

About You:

  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment providing support to an organisation’s Board and Leadership Team.
  • You’ll be a great communicator, with the ability to advise and influence. There may be challenging conversations, so you won’t be afraid to hold people to account.
  • You will be skilled in planning, organising, and maintaining accurate information and systems.
  • You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
