Role Overview:

Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Community Engagement Officer to join our Employability team on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2026. Working as part of our fantastic employability service, you’ll support us to create positive outcomes for people who are not in employment, education or training, as well as anyone looking to change career or find a new job.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You’ll be out and about most days speaking with people across the Tees Valley about how our service could help them back into work.
  • Help to promote the Thirteen Employability Service through active engagement in wider communities.
  • Create and plan new activities to engage new users of the service.
  • Undertake initial eligibility checks of potential participants and provide our Employability Caseworkers with a continuous pipeline of new participants.
  • Working as a member of a wider delivery team with partners, you’ll market our employability programmes at events and other promotional opportunities. Sometimes events may be on evenings and weekends, so you’ll need to be flexible in line with business need.

About You:

  • Creative in your approach, you’ll have the skills and experience to develop a diverse range of activities and events to bring in new service users.
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience of liaising with partner organisations and community groups to promote the benefits and opportunities of our employability programmes.
  • Comfortable engaging with economically inactive members of the community to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Well organised, can work off your own initiative and an excellent communicator.
