We’re on a mission to protect society from fraud and money laundering. We’ve already protected over 3 million people through life’s big transactions. Fraud and regulation are rising, costing the UK economy over £100bn every year; this makes it more difficult for businesses to protect themselves and their clients from fraud and money laundering. Our co-founders Olly and Jack were led to this area when a friend was defrauded of £25K when buying their first property. At the time, anti-fraud technology didn’t exist, which meant that completing the anti-fraud checks required in these processes was largely manual. These big life moments should be exciting, but instead are often confusing and scary due to the painful process of completing these paper-based checks and the risk of fraud. Thirdfort helps businesses to facilitate these anti-fraud checks so that individuals know they can transact safely and seamlessly with professionals during these big transactions. Our anti-fraud platform provides a secure way for professionals in regulated sectors like Lawyers, Estate Agents and Accountants to transfer funds and verify sensitive information through app-based document checks, facial recognition and open banking. Over 1,500 businesses now trust Thirdfort to verify their clients. We are FCA regulated and have raised over $33m in capital from leading Fintech investors Breega and Element Ventures, as well as the founders of Zoopla, Funding Circle, Comply Advantage, Tessian, Fenergo and Fidel.
As an Analytics Engineer, you will:
- Own and improve Thirdfort’s analytics models and datasets end-to-end, from raw data to trusted, well-documented outputs for reporting and decision-making.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and dbt transformations in BigQuery, improving data quality, testing, and monitoring so core metrics are consistent and auditable.
- Keep billing analytics and billing logic accurate, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain and enhance Looker dashboards and reporting, ensuring stakeholders can self-serve reliable insights.
- Partner with teams across the business to define metrics, answer questions with data, and deliver clear analysis that drives action.
- Troubleshoot data issues across the stack (source systems → warehouse → dbt → BI), driving fixes that reduce recurring errors and manual work.
- Contribute to analytics engineering best practices, including version control (Git), code review, documentation, and continuous improvement of the analytics stack.
- Help embed AI into day-to-day operations by making Thirdfort’s data foundations AI-ready.
You may be right for this role if you have:
- 3-5+ years in an Analytics Engineering, Senior Data Analyst, or Data Engineering role, with a proven track record of owning end-to-end data workflows.
- Expert-level ability to write complex, highly performant, and readable SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Familiarity with Python.
- Proficiency working with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred), experience managing Fivetran, and expertise with data modelling tools (dbt preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of version control (Git), code reviews, data testing, and documentation.
- Extensive experience building user-friendly, scalable dashboards in tools like Looker.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technical data and business strategy, with a knack for translating ambiguous business questions into clear analytical requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise non-technical stakeholders, present insights clearly, and drive data-informed decisions.
