We’re on a mission to protect society from fraud and money laundering. We’ve already protected over 2 million people through life’s big transactions, with a core aim to protect 3 million people by the end of 2025. Fraud and regulation are rising, costing the UK economy over £100bn every year; this makes it more difficult for businesses to protect themselves and their clients - individuals like you and me from fraud and money laundering. Our co-founders Olly and Jack were led to this area when a friend was defrauded of £25K when buying their first property. At the time, anti-fraud technology didn’t exist, which meant that completing the anti-fraud checks required in these processes was largely manual. These big life moments should be exciting, but instead are often confusing and scary due to the painful process of completing these paper-based checks and the risk of fraud. Thirdfort helps businesses to facilitate these anti-fraud checks so that individuals know they can transact safely and seamlessly with professionals during these big transactions. Our anti-fraud platform provides a secure way for professionals in regulated sectors like Lawyers, Estate Agents and Accountants to transfer funds and verify sensitive information through app-based document checks, facial recognition and open banking. Over 1,500 businesses now trust Thirdfort to verify their clients. We are FCA regulated and have raised over $33m in capital from leading Fintech investors Breega and Element Ventures, as well as the founders of Zoopla, Funding Circle, Comply Advantage, Tessian, Fenergo and Fidel.
Design at Thirdfort: Our designers don't just make things look good, we solve problems that matter. When law firms struggle with 6-month property transactions, we design systems that cut that to 4 weeks. When compliance teams drown in manual processes, we create workflows that feel effortless while meeting regulatory requirements. We ask “why” until we have the ability to bring clarity to the problem space, and deliver an experience that is so simple, it feels like it was always that way. We're looking for designers who are creative problem solvers at their core; viewing complex challenges as creative opportunities. You'll work with stakeholders who understand that good design drives business outcomes, not just user satisfaction. Our team values designers who can articulate design decisions in terms of reduced friction, decreased time to value, improved completion rates, and measurable impact on client success.
As a Senior Product Designer, you'll:
- Own end-to-end design for a core product domain: Take complete design ownership for one of our four product teams (Platform, Identity Risk, Financial Risk, or Business Risk).
- Design complex workflows that guide users through multi-step compliance processes.
- Transform data-heavy risk assessment tools into clear, actionable interfaces.
- Create interface solutions that make sophisticated risk assessment tools feel intuitive.
- Collaborate directly with your PM and engineering counterparts to prioritise, plan & deliver experiences in the right slices.
- Leverage AI and collaborate with engineers to ensure optimal implementation balancing visual delight + experience.
Contribute to our evolving design system:
- Build reusable components that work across all our platform workflows.
- Establish design patterns that other teams can adopt and extend.
- Document design decisions and rationale for complex scenarios.
- Balance consistency with domain-specific user needs.
Mentor and elevate team design quality:
- Provide design feedback and guidance to other designers.
- Share expertise in complex B2B workflow design.
- Contribute to design critiques and process improvements.
- Take initiative on design process improvements and tool adoption.
- Represent design thinking in cross-functional planning and strategy discussions.
Drive user-centred solutions in a regulated environment:
- Conduct user research with law firms, compliance officers, and property professionals.
- Transform complex regulatory requirements into clear user flows.
- Test and iterate on designs that must meet both user needs and legal standards.
- Measure design impact and optimise designs based on real client outcomes and business metrics.
Who you are:
- You’re an experienced Senior Product Designer with a strong track record in SaaS or complex workflow design (5+ years experience, or ready for a Senior role).
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and is eager to make a significant impact in a short timeframe.
- You excel at turning complexity into clarity, designing flows that make hard problems simple.
- You move fast: comfortable working collaboratively, making decisions, and shipping designs without heavy process.
- Figma and Claude are second nature to you for UI/UX design and prototyping.
- You have solid visual design skills, but your superpower is UX and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to absorb new domains, especially in fast-moving startup and SaaS environments.
- Previous experience in Fintech or regulated industries with security/compliance requirements in a B2B context is a strong plus (or broader B2B SaaS sectors).
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal with the ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- You understand what it takes to validate hypotheses, using “just enough research” (internal or external) and using insights to shape practical solutions.
- You collaborate naturally and can bring people with you through your design thinking.
