About the Organisation

Provides support and advocacy for the community youth sector across Kirklees.

Role Description

Kirklees Youth Alliance is seeking volunteers aged 16+ to help out at the youth club at Dewsbury Moor Children’s Centre on Tuesday teatimes from 4-7pm (term‑time only). The youth clubs are run by a partnership of KYA and Huddersfield Giants Community Trust delivering a programme of health and wellbeing activities as well as life skills and space for young people to chill with their friends.

Responsibilities:

  • Help to set up activities
  • Welcoming young people and signing them in
  • Encourage participation in activities
  • Build supportive relationships with young people
  • Support young people who need additional help to engage with activities
  • Tidy up at the end of the session

This is a great opportunity to gain experience supporting children and young people.
