About the Organisation: Kirklees Youth Alliance CIO are an infrastructure charity operating within the Youth Sector.
Role Description: Kirklees Youth Alliance is seeking volunteers aged 16+ to help out at its junior and senior youth clubs in Holmfirth on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (term-time only). The youth club will be delivering a range of activities including life skills, arts & crafts, fitness & wellbeing, cooking, games all led by what the young people want to do and providing a space for young people to chill with their friends.
The two youth clubs are:
- Phoenix Youth Club – Tues 5.30pm - 9.00pm
- Café 100 – Wed & Thurs 4.30pm – 6.30pm
The role will typically involve the following tasks:
- Helping to set up activities
- Welcoming young people to the youth club
- Registering young people if it’s their first time and signing them in and out
- Encouraging young people to take part in activities
- Building supportive relationships with young people
- Supporting young people who need additional help to engage with activities
- Tidying up at the end of the session
