Job Description
- To report to the Young Carers Manager in the provision of services for Young Carers/Young Adult Carers.
- To offer information, advice and support services to Young Carers and Young Adult Carers, their families and professionals as appropriate and to publicise and promote Young Carers activities.
- To work with Young Carers and Young Adult Carers individually and in groups.
- Provide advocacy where appropriate or support to access independent advocacy.
- To assess the needs of Young Carers/Young Adult Carers and establish the support required from the Project.
- To assist in the development and delivery of age‑appropriate activities for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers including evening work and occasional residential breaks.
- To prepare and distribute information for Young Carers and Young Adult Carers about Young Carers and Young Adult Carers issues.
- To raise awareness about the needs of Young Carers and Young Adult Carers within the statutory, private and voluntary sector.
- Establish and maintain links with relevant professionals in health, social work, education and third sector.
- To encourage and enable Young Carers and Young Adult Carers to constructively voice their needs and advocate where necessary.
- To attend regular Carers Centre staff meetings, Young Carers staff meetings and supervision.
- To attend training sessions where appropriate and adhere to Health.
