We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, compassionate people to join our Dumfries & Galloway Family Support Service as a Family Support Worker. As part of our team, you’ll work alongside children, young people, and their families to offer emotional, practical, and holistic support. No two days are the same — one day you might be helping a young person build confidence through activities, the next developing outcome plans to ensure every young person thrives. What is consistent is that everything you do will have a positive impact on someone’s life.

We have opportunities available for:

  • Contracted Posts – evening and weekend working, structured support, and long‑term involvement
  • Relief Posts – flexible, supportive, and perfect for those who want to make a difference around other commitments

  • Building trusting relationships with children, young people, and families
  • Providing emotional and practical support based on their needs
  • Helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and life skills
