We are exclusively working with a Fintech company who are shaping the Banking / Finance industry with their innovative and scalable technology platform. As a business, they thrive on a start to finish attitude, seeking someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty and solve complex problems, with high energy and comfort working outside of rigid structures and frameworks.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide strong technical direction
- Lead a small team of developers
- Responsible for implementing the technical vision as defined and managing the technical deliverables
- Own multiple components of their internal / external Microservices which form the basis of their merchant onboarding portal, SaaS services and core acquiring platform
- Work side-by-side with other engineers, leads and architects on platform architecture, integration (internal / external), performance and security to create a powerful platform
- Contribute to Product Design, Architecture, System Reliability and Scalability of their service
- Ensure the teams use engineering best practices such as CI / CD, TDD / BDD, Automated Testing
- Influence the adoption of best tools for completing day to day development tasks
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Java / J2EE and other concepts including OO & Service Design in JSON or RESTful
- Strong Knowledge of Java 8 and above as well as Spring / JPA
- Good understanding of CI / CD, TDD practices
- Previous experience with relational Databases and SQL tuning
- Strong experience with Agile methodologies & SDLC
- Experience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker etc)
- Microservice Design and development
- Rest, JSON, XML
- Experience with Javascript frameworks: Angular / React

- This is a remote based role, where you can be based anywhere in the UK (must have the right to work and live in the UK)
- In the future, the role will be based in London and a commute of 2 times a month will be required to travel to the office
