Are you a bilingual language expert with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for financial content? We are looking for an Associate Sub‑Editor to become the founding member of our German language Editorial team. This unique opportunity lets you start your journey ensuring market‑leading research is polished, accurate and impactful; as the function grows, your career opportunities will grow with us. Be the bridge between complex industry insights and our global client base, ensuring that technical transcripts in German and in English, as well as each German‑to‑English translation, meet our gold standard for quality.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll join our fast‑paced Editorial team, focusing on the rapid growth of our client‑led products. Your typical day will involve transforming raw, spoken technical interviews into high‑quality, professional transcripts.
  • Bilingual Editing & Proofreading: Meticulously review transcripts of interviews conducted in both English and German. You’ll fix mistranscriptions, research technical terminology, and ensure every file is grammatically perfect and style‑guide compliant.
  • AI Translation Specialist: Review and refine AI‑generated German‑to‑English translations. Your goal isn’t just "literary perfection"—it’s ensuring 100% accuracy in numbers, company names, and M&A activity.
  • Content Delivery: Take ownership of the end‑to‑end process, from curating specialist profiles to distributing raw transcripts to clients to fulfill critical SLAs.
  • Process Pioneering: As our first German hire, you’ll help define internal guidelines and resolve issues with global stakeholders to get content to clients faster.
  • High‑Volume Excellence: Manage a daily volume of transcript edits, balancing speed with a meticulous eye for detail.

What You’ll Bring

  • You are a proactive self‑starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and has a deep commitment to quality.
  • Language Mastery: Native‑level fluency in both German and English is highly preferred. You must have an exceptional command of spelling, grammar, and syntax in both languages.
  • Professional Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in editing, translation, proofreading, or a similar role.
  • Sector Awareness: Demonstrable familiarity with financial content and business terminology. You know your "M&A" from your "ESG."
  • Meticulous Mindset: A sharp eye for subtle errors and a curiosity that drives you to research acronyms, abbreviations, and market events until they are 100% correct.
  • Adaptability: You’re comfortable being a "founding member" and helping us experiment with new processes as the German function scales.
  • Coachability: You value constructive feedback and enjoy collaborating with a global team across London, Mumbai, New York, and beyond.

How will you be rewarded?

  • Rewarding Performance: Unlike many editorial roles, we offer a transparent 10% bonus structure based on a quarterly incentive plan that rewards your productivity and quality.
  • Vacation: 25 days (which increases to 28 days after 2 years of service) plus UK Bank Holidays.
  • Learning: Personal development allowance of £1,000 per year.
  • Health and wellbeing: Private medical insurance and healthcare cash plan, a variety of health and wellbeing events to focus on mental health, Ride to Work scheme (savings on bikes and accessories).
  • Future and family: Pension contributions of 4% (increases with tenure) and life insurance of 4x your base salary.
  • Flexibility: Work from anywhere for one month per year, 2 annual volunteer days, 2 personal days when life throws you a curveball, and "Summer Fridays."
