Support Worker – Semi-Independent Accommodation (Croydon & Sutton)

About Us
We provide safe, nurturing semi-independent accommodation and bespoke support for young people, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need for independent living. We work to the highest care standards, ensuring a positive and structured environment for every young person we support.

What You\’ll Do

  • Support young people in gaining essential life skills: cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, shopping, budgeting, and more.

  • Help them attend important appointments (health, education, social) and accompany them where needed.

  • Safeguard children and young people, knowing when and how to escalate concerns.

  • Build positive, professional relationships-even with those whose behaviour may challenge-by understanding their needs and responding appropriately.

  • Work effectively with external agencies, including social services.

  • Work independently with young people and keep detailed, accurate records and reports.

  • Use strong organisational and administrative skills to manage tasks effectively.

  • Provide guidance and oversight to colleagues where required.

  • Attend training to keep skills and knowledge up to date.

What We\’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years\’ experience in Health & Social Care, with recent experience working in an OFSTED-registered children\’s home.

  • Proven ability to work with children and young people aged 5 to 18, supporting their development and safeguarding their welfare.

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification (QCF/NVQ) in Health & Social Care (Children) within the required timeframe.

  • Enhanced DBS check – (Update Service).

  • Full UK driving licence – having your own vehicle is a strong advantage.
