What your day will look like
The Paralegal will support the Legal Team within a leading global construction technology business, partnering with colleagues across Sales, Procurement, HR, Finance, Product and Operations to deliver practical, commercially focused legal support.
You will gain experience across a broad range of commercial, employment, property and corporate legal matters under the supervision of the Legal Director.
You will gain hands‑on experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, conducting legal research, implementing legal technology solutions and supporting stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
A key focus of the role will be supporting the implementation and ongoing development of our Contract Management System (CMS), creating scalable legal templates and improving legal processes through automation and AI-enabled tools.

Working closely with experienced in‑house lawyers, you will gain broad exposure to commercial legal practice while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Main Responsibilities
Legal Operations & Process Improvement
- Support the implementation, organisation and ongoing development of the Contract Management System (CMS).
- Support with the drafting, standardising, and maintaining high-quality legal templates (e. g., NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, playbooks, processes, workflows, guidance notes and internal knowledge resources) to optimise contract performance and streamline execution.
- Drive continuous improvement of legal processes through technology, automation and AI.
- Support the evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled legal tools to improve efficiency, knowledge management and contract review processes.
- Provide operational and project management support to the Legal Director, including co‑ordinating legal initiatives and supporting legal project management across the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce legal risk.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth cross‑functional workflows.
- Commercial & Employment Support
- Draft, review, and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, including customer and supplier contracts.
- Respond to legal queries from Sales, Procurement and other stakeholders.
- Support the Legal and People & Culture teams with employment‑related matters.
- Utilise German language competencies to review regional agreements and support German‑market stakeholders.
- Risk Management & Legal Research
- Conduct multi‑jurisdictional legal research across commercial, employment, data privacy, intellectual property and corporate matters, summarising legal issues and preparing commercially focused recommendations for review by the Legal Director.
- Identify and assess potential contractual risks and liabilities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Corporate Governance
- Support entity management and corporate records.
- Assist with company secretarial activities where applicable.
- What you need to fulfil the role
Experience
- Law degree (LLB), GDL, SQE candidate, 1st State Exam in Law (Germany) or equivalent legal qualification.
Professional fluency or native competency in German (written and verbal) is essential.
- Previous experience in an in‑house legal team, law firm or multinational technology business would be advantageous, but not essential.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Demonstrable interest in legal technology, AI and legal operations, with experience of Contract Management Systems or document automation tools being advantageous.
- Expertise
- Excellent written/ verbal communication skills in both English and German, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in additional languages is desirable but not essential.
- Professional, confident, highly organised, and a proactive self‑starter.
- Able to work on your own initiative, manage research tasks independently, and prioritise effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse global stakeholders.
- High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
