About Us

My Client is a growing commercial electrical contractor based in Suffolk, supporting a wide range of commercial clients across the region. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Manager to help oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational running of the company. This is a varied and important role within the business, working directly alongside the Company Director to help keep projects, finances, customer communication and office systems running smoothly.

The Role

This position combines office management, bookkeeping, customer administration and operational support. You will play a central role in helping the business stay organised, efficient and commercially focused. The ideal candidate will be practical, detail-oriented, confident using business systems and comfortable working within a busy SME environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance & Bookkeeping
    • Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
    • Processing supplier invoices and payments
    • Raising customer invoices
    • Bank reconciliations
    • Supporting VAT preparation
    • Credit control and chasing outstanding invoices
    • Liaising with external accountants and payroll providers
  • Administration & Operations
    • Managing quotations and customer records within Tradify
    • Updating and maintaining Zoho Bigin CRM
    • Supporting project and engineer administration
    • Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries
    • Organising company documentation and records
    • General office administration and business support
    • Supporting the Director with day-to-day operational tasks

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience in an office management, administration or bookkeeping role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using cloud-based business software
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently
  • Professional and reliable approach

Desirable

  • Experience using Xero
  • Experience using Tradify or similar job management systems
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Zoho
  • Experience working within construction, engineering or trade-based businesses
