My client is urgently looking for a contract Financial Data Analyst. The analyst will reconcile finance data and business/operational data across multiple systems and reports to ensure accurate, reliable information for decision-making. The role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of process, and an interest in data quality, controls, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications & experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in data analysis, reporting, finance operations, reconciliation, or a similar analytical role (internships/placements welcome).
- Strong Excel skills (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filters, data checks).
- Basic SQL skills for extracting and comparing data across systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot small inconsistencies in large datasets.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly for investigating exceptions and variance drivers.
- Ability to document processes clearly and maintain accurate audit trails and issue logs.
- Effective communication skills and confidence working with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in recurring reporting cycles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Nice to have:
- Exposure to ERP, CRM, BI, or financial systems.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/visualisation tools.
- Familiarity with process improvement, controls, or data quality initiatives.
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts, general ledger structures, or financial reporting.
- Experience working with multiple entities, currencies, or European markets.
