Engineering Test Technician

The Engineering Test Technician is concerned with the testing and technical aspects of electrical and electronic engineering in relation to the company’s manufactured products.

To carry out functional testing of electronic hardware including printed circuit boards and electromechanical assemblies.

Our client is open to considering graduates, entry-level candidates and those with more experience.

Salary is dependant the individual’s skills and experience.

In all cases applicants are required to have a basic knowledge or at least an interest in Electronic Engineering.

The successful applicant might not necessarily have a formal education in Electronics, but they need to have a ‘can do’ attitude, a willingness to learn and great communication skills.

This role is based on site, in rural Gloucestershire (Dursley area), so your own transport might be required.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform functional testing on products manufactured by the company.
  • To carry out basic de-bug and fault finding.
  • To assist with calibration and/or maintenance actions and fault finding of the engineering test equipment
  • First line fault finding on burn-in boards and driver cards.
  • To assist with the design and manufacture of board test equipment.
  • To assist with inspection of company products.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Minimum requirement of GCSE Mathematics, English and Science, grades A-C (5-9 new grade system) and an interest in electronics.
  • I. T. Literate.
  • Practical and technical aptitude with good attention to detail.
  • RENUMERATION

Salary range is dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate. £24,784.50 would be the minimum salary for this role.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, with 45-minute lunch break and Friday, early finish, 8:00am to 12:30pm. 37½ hour week.
