Are you an experienced Supply Chain professional with a strong technical or manufacturing background? Do you thrive on forecasting demand, managing complex supply chains and leading high-performing teams?

We're recruiting for a Head of Supply Chain, Logistics & Procurement to join a growing and innovative manufacturing business based in Hemel Hempstead. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the entire supply chain function, overseeing procurement, logistics, inventory and demand planning while leading a team of six and imminently growing to seven.

This role would suit someone from a sheet metal, fabrication, manufacturing or technical engineering environment who is highly analytical, commercially aware and confident using data to drive operational performance.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, you'll be responsible for managing the complete supply chain operation, ensuring materials are forecasted, procured and delivered to meet customer demand and production schedules. Working closely with the UK operation and the company's sister companies across the world and most notably, France, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time by proactively managing stock levels, supplier performance and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain, procurement and logistics function.
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasting and material planning models.
  • Translate project schedules into material requirements to support production.
  • Manage procurement strategies to ensure materials are available while optimising costs.
  • Oversee UK and European logistics, including imports, exports and customs compliance.
  • Manage inventory levels and lead quarterly stock audits.
  • Work closely with Sales, Projects and Operations to ensure production capacity aligns with demand.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of six supply chain and logistics professionals.
  • Produce meaningful reports and analyse data to drive business decisions.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has exceptional attention to detail. You'll ideally have:

  • A strong background within sheet metal, fabrication, manufacturing or a technical engineering environment.
  • Significant experience in supply chain, procurement and logistics management.
  • Experience with demand planning, forecasting, MRP/MPS and inventory control.
  • Previous experience managing international supply chains, ideally UK and Europe.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Sage or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills - you'll be a true spreadsheet expert, confident working with complex formulas, data analysis, reporting, forecasting and large datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.
